This 1976 Mercedes-Benz 300D is a
low-mileage survivor and the proverbial Mercedes “tank” from its last year of
production. It’s a pristine W115 with a tight 65K original 5-cylinder motor,
original paint (740G – Pastel Grey), original navy leather interior, a rust-free
and collision-free body, and countless original details throughout, including
factory books and tools.
The W115 is thought to be the most durable Mercedes ever built and this pristine
example easily confirms this. Even after 33 years, everything about it feels
fresh and just barely broken in. Jump into its leather driver’s seat, turn up
the air conditioning and Becker Europa stereo (with Hirschmann antenna), and
listen to the legendary OM617 motor make that wonderfully purposeful diesel
clatter.
It’s handsome to look at, comfortable, safe, and even economical to drive by
today’s standards. If you appreciate these timeless sedans, this is an
opportunity to own an icon that is sure to last and last.
Optional leather rather than "M-B Tex" (vinyl) is especially rare on a W115
model.
Note the original speaker grill and crack-free dash
Note original heel pad with original blue multi-loop carpet
in mint condition (typically these are long gone).
